Yes, you have ‘Freedom of Choice’. Its your vehicle, so its your choice! Insurers cannot dictate where you get your vehicle repaired, unless it is specifically mentioned in your policy (check your policy wording).
It’s crucial to select a repairer who is qualified in heavy or commercial vehicle repairs.
Do I need to contact several repairers for estimates?
No. It is your right to choose your own repairer. Only one estimate is required, from 1 repairer. You do not need to get multiple quotes.
The at fault party or Insurers cannot dictate where you get your vehicle repaired, unless it is specifically noted in your policy (check your policy wording). You need to ensure your vehicle goes to a qualified heavy vehicle repairer.
Can I get a quote for the repairs to my truck over the phone?

Yes, we will schedule an appointment time for the quote, as we need to physically inspect the vehicle to estimate the repair costs. This appointment usually takes about 15-30 minutes. During this time our Estimator will assess the damage & determine what needs to be repaired & replaced. We also obtain any pricing for parts that are necessary from our suppliers. The quote process typically takes approx. 2-5 days to complete, depending on the extent of your vehicle’s damage. Once complete, we advise you of the costs for your repair & how long we expect the repairs to take.
What is the quote process?
Drivable repairs:
We need to physically see the vehicle to complete our estimate for the repair costs.
- Appointment Booking: We schedule an appointment for you, which typically takes about 15-30 minutes.
- Vehicle Assessment: During the appointment, our Estimator will assess the damage and determine what needs to be repaired or replaced. They may ask you questions about the vehicle’s performance since the accident. You will wait with your vehicle during this time and do not need to leave it with us.
- Estimate Preparation: We are unable to provide the repair estimate immediately. The quoting process typically takes a few days to complete. After the Estimator has noted the required repairs and taken images of the damage, you can leave.
- Parts Pricing and Availability: We will obtain part prices from our reputable suppliers and check if any major components are on back-order. This helps us determine the best repair booking date to minimize the downtime of your truck, especially if it is still drivable and can be used in the interim.
- Quote Completion and Contact: Once the quote is complete, we will contact you to advise how long we expect the repairs to take and arrange a suitable repair date. This process typically takes 2-5 days, depending on the specifics of your individual repair.
Non-Drivable Repairs:
This means your vehicle can not be driven until repairs are complete. In this instance, your vehicle would usually get towed into a Royans branch.
